In December 2011, several high-level French and American experts and university professors gathered at the cultural services of the French Embassy in New York, for a full-day public workshop dedicated to French and American perspectives on food and health.

This event was inspired by an innovative project between the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) and the Ecoles des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) in France. That collaboration was made possible thanks to the Partner University Fund (PUF), a grant supported by the French Embassy in the United States.
