Limousin is situated largely in the Massif Central, forming part of the South-West of France. Its prefecture is Limoges.
As of January 1, 2010, the Limousin comprised 742,771 inhabitants on nearly 17,000 km², making it the second least populated region of France after Corsica.

 

Limousin Apple (PDO)

The Limousin Apple is the first and only apple in France to obtain PDO status. Its history dates back to Antiquity, when the Romans brought the apple trees to this région.
